during our first week open this kid, he was 5 years old or something, stopped in and gave me this evil eye. it has been on the hot water spout ever since.
I hope you'll check out the kitchen sisters Davia Nelson and Nikki Silva. they do some amazing things - you'll see. they even have a store. I took this photo from their website - i don't have one of my own yet. ok - thanks, mark

BLUE SHADOW
Mr. Malicki's Art
This is a detail from one of my dad's paintings. he started painting when he was like 80 or something. you'll have to see it in person.
ROBERT KING
this man is amazing - please listen to his story on npr - the link is below. the kitchen sisters told me about him. wow. this picture was taken from his website.
i opened the cafe in 2006 - around the feast day of Saint Rose. My wife Jenny and our daughter Ruby, along with a lot of other people helped to get the cafe open. the cafe is a work in progress - we change the menu almost daily and generally do what seems right for the moment.
one of the best things about having my own cafe is that i can do anything i want with it. i like to find ways to work with the community on a personal basis. we don't contribute to big fund raisers rather we work with local people in need. it's really rewarding for us to get to know people who live here and to feel like we are helping them directly. it's really great to be able to offer something. but you know really all of us have something to offer. nothing happens in more than a moment. thanks for reading.
we hope to see you soon.
